You know those little things that you never thought you needed, but once you get them it’s impossible to live without? That’s exactly how I felt about phone rings.
I first saw them when I was working in Hong Kong, there were hundreds in every shop I went to, I just thought it was a novelty and moved on. Fast forward a few months and I see them popping up in the shops in England. Ok, let’s see what all this fuss is about – it only costs a few pounds so why not…

First thoughts on Phone Rings
The first thing I noticed was I no longer had to use a mug or find something on my table to prop my phone up while I watched videos. Quite simple but made meal-time video watching a lot easier.
Typing one-handed became far easier with the extra control the ring gave me. I was using a One-Plus 5 which is 74mm wide which is big even for my giant hands. Without the ring I really couldn’t comfortably text or even reach most of the screen with my fingers when using one hand. Since then I have upgraded to the slightly thinner iPhone X, combined with my phone ring my using experience became extremely easy.
It took a couple of days to get used to slipping my finger into the ring every time I used my phone but with the amount of times I picked up and put down my phone everyday it became second nature very quickly. Now walking with my phone in my hand I don’t need to use my death-grip to make sure my phone doesn’t slip out of my hands. After a few cracked screens I was pretty paranoid about dropping my phone again and I found the ring does give a good amount of extra security and peace of mind.

Which Phone Ring is the best?
There are a lot of different designs out there but my favourite is the Lamicall range. They are sleek and stylish compared to other brands and you can rotate the ring 360 degrees making it easy to adjust when using your phone in different positions.
